Most systems document a crisis after it becomes visible. CauseWork.io is building CCCI to show how changing community pressure, existing vulnerability and demonstrated response capacity are converging—while there is still time to prepare, intervene and strengthen the response.
The crisis does not create every need it exposes.
Community pressure accumulates before the fire, flood, closure, funding cliff, disease surge or service failure gives it a name.
Nonprofits are already encountering the signals: missed rent, food requests, shelter contacts, interrupted healthcare, transportation barriers, animal surrenders, unsuccessful referrals and exhausted local capacity. Each mission sees part of the change. Government sees periodic reports. Funders see applications. Emergency planners see hazard models. CCCI connects governed operational patterns without turning independent nonprofit records into a central case warehouse.
CCCI does not claim to predict when a hazard will occur. It helps communities understand the likely human demand if disruption occurs—and where ordinary pressure may already be becoming a crisis.
The intelligence can be shared. The records do not become ours.
CauseWorkHub is distributed by design. Each nonprofit owns and operates its system on its own server.
CauseWork.io cannot silently search, scrape or inherit an organization’s client records. For National Mission Signal, approved categories contribute governed aggregate or de-identified information—not names, case files or identifiable histories.
PHI or PII may move only when the organization overtly authorizes it, for a defined purpose, and only when the minimum necessary information is genuinely required—such as a consent-governed Mission Handoff. The originating organization chooses what leaves, who may receive it, why it is needed and when that permission expires or can be revoked.

National Mission Signal
A free public view of governed aggregate patterns arising from approved operational networks. It does not accept open submissions and does not certify, endorse or publicly identify contributors.
Mission Response Grid
A permissioned view of evidenced needs, resources, reach and current capacity. It distinguishes operational readiness from a self-reported claim that an organization can respond.

A referral is not a successful connection merely because someone sent an email or handed over a phone number.
Mission Handoff creates a governed bridge between nationally dispersed nonprofits and NGOs without creating a national case-record warehouse. The originating organization selects the minimum necessary information, records the purpose and consent boundary, identifies the receiving mission and sets an expiration or revocation path.
The receiving organization acknowledges the handoff, records whether connection occurred and returns only the permitted result. Each organization retains its own authoritative record. CauseWorkHub preserves who acted, when, under what permission and what happened next.
America should not have to wait for one night, one survey or one annual report to learn that a community is under pressure.
Mission Signal shows what governed operational networks are encountering. It does not pretend to measure an entire population.
Nonprofits meet changing conditions as they happen: more requests for rent or utility help, earlier cooling-center demand, rising homelessness contacts, hunger requests, animal surrenders, domestic-violence services, hate-crime support, school disengagement, environmental harm and sudden pressure on local capacity.
The public Signal is free. Contribution comes from approved cohorts, established operational relationships and governed system connections—not an open reporting form. Findings identify methodology, geography, time, source class and confidence without exposing case records or participating organizations.

The underlying person, case and protected record remain with the organization. Participating missions choose which approved categories may contribute to a shared signal. Small-cell suppression, aggregation thresholds, sensitivity rules and human review protect against turning vulnerable people into dots on a map.
This is designed to complement trusted public datasets—not pretend they have no value. Point-in-Time counts, annual hunger studies, animal-welfare reporting and environmental tools answer important questions. The Signal would add a missing layer: what governed operational networks are encountering between those snapshots.

National Mission Signal can remain free to the public and free for approved contributors without accepting unverifiable submissions. CauseWork.io will pursue sponsors and aligned institutional partners to fund regional and mission-specific cohorts, integration support, governance and public dashboards.
CauseWork does not certify or endorse contributors. There is no participant directory, badge, certificate, organization-level score or permission to use participation as evidence of legitimacy, grant readiness or CauseWork approval.
Informed in part by CauseWork leadership’s emergency-planning experience during Hurricane Katrina, the design begins with a practical truth: communities need better visibility—but visibility without disciplined trust boundaries can create a second crisis.
Language access deserves its own light.
A person’s language preference should follow the work—not force them to begin again at every public form, conversation, service handoff and outcome.
CauseWork.io is building a governed multilingual operating layer across public access, forms, chat, internal work, service delivery, outcomes and evidence. The goal is not a translation window bolted onto the edge of the mission. It is continuity of meaning throughout the work.
